When you work with Lilian Musyawa Kikuvi, you’re partnering with someone who has dedicated her life to going upstream—activating change in workplace culture and healthcare by identifying the systemic forces that drive inequity and co-creating sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready systems.

Her approach blends Kenyan cultural principles with Western methodologies to challenge the status quo, reshape narratives, and reimagine the systems that shape our lives.

This journey has taken her from Kenya to both global and national stages, where she’s collaborated with leading organisations such as Microsoft, Spotify, Fidelity International, Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, and ANSTO (Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation).

Lilian’s move to Australia from Kenya in 1999 was a defining moment. Navigating cultural dislocation, racism, and exclusion—while witnessing others face similar challenges—sparked a lifelong commitment to transforming workplace culture and healthcare.

Born into the Kenyan philosophy of Harambee—meaning collective strength—and equipped with formal qualifications in counselling and psychology, Lilian brings a rare ability to integrate lived experience, behavioural insight, and system-level design.

As a breast cancer survivor with nearly 20 years of experience across Australia’s public and private healthcare systems, she brings a unique 360-degree perspective—having worked across regulators, state health departments, funders, service providers, and policy spaces. She understands how care is authorised, funded, designed, delivered, and most importantly—experienced.

This depth of experience has given her both a deep appreciation for what works in Australia’s healthcare system and a clear-eyed view of the systemic gaps—especially as our population becomes more culturally and linguistically diverse. Most critically, she’s seen where the system continues to fail the very communities it was designed to serve. But Lilian’s work extends far beyond healthcare.

With leadership experience across publicly listed companies, government, and not-for-profit sectors—in both Australia and internationally—she has seen just how deeply leadership, culture, and equity are intertwined.

Whether it’s a patient waiting for culturally safe care, or an employee navigating a psychologically unsafe workplace, the message is clear: The systems we rely on don’t just need adjusting—they need to be fundamentally redesigned.

Lilian doesn’t just help you respond to disruption. She partners with you to reimagine and rebuild from the core—across both healthcare and workplace culture. Her aim is to help you create frameworks that are resilient, purpose-driven, and built to last.
