Dr. Liam Mayo is a CEO, author and public speaker who specializes in helping people, governments, and businesses to navigate transformational change. During his time on the frontline of the global refugee crisis Liam used his proven fast trust methodologies to cut through divisive cultures and unite people toward a shared vision of the future.
He is best known for leading teams through significant uncertainty, advising to the United Nation Human Rights Commission, the International Organisation for Migration as well as the Department of Immigration Papua New Guinea.
An international award-winning futurist, Liam is passionate about growing leaders who not only understand how culture influences the way we think about the future but use culture to unify and drive successful teams.
Sensational, personal, uncomfortable, and thought-provoking with a few well-placed curse words summarizes Dr. Liam Mayo’s dynamic presentation on our perceived futures. Throughout Dr. Mayo’s keynote address, I was often drawn back to the teachings I learned in Pema Chödrön’s book, Comfortable with Uncertainty. Change is always present, and certain. We have free agency to choose how we respond, especially to the things completely out of our control. Do it with grace and courtesy. All of these statements kept running through my mind as Dr. Mayo kept serving and spiking. My mind pivoting, and then coming back to center. Mental gymnastics at its finest.
With the ability to not only relate, read, and interact with his audience, Liam strikes fear, hope, and curiosity within the same thought. This is exactly what he speaks to when revealing his own center of balance and organizational compass of complexity, chaos, and contradiction.
The brilliance of keeping his audience on edge as he wound down his first session, to bring it all full circle for a second and final session that offered hope, time to reflect, and maybe had a chance to get a stiff drink while contemplating it all, truly shows the level of professionalism as a sophisticated speaker, but as the true futurist that he is. I recommend just enjoying the show; just don’t get too emotional. P.S. He really, really loves Kevin Bacon.– Melissa Sutton - President of Active Kids Global, USA
As we live in a world characterized by division, economic uncertainty and a changing climate it’s challenging to have a positive outlook of the future. Liam helped me understand that the future can be bright. We just need to change our perspective.
One of the best speeches I’ve seen. I loved his energy and engagement. I learned that my future outlook is heavily influenced by how I view my current situation.– Tiernan Murphy - Chief Wave Maker, Making Waves, Canada
Informative, Engaging and the best way to kick off our National Conference! We aware lucky enough to have Liam present two sessions for us during our recent National Conference, and he did not disappoint! He gave the audience perspective, provoked us to think big and tools on how we can grow and thrive as leaders.
I couldn’t recommend Liam highly enough! Need an exceptional keynote for you next event, Liam is your man!”– Emily McNeill - General Manager, Australian Swim Schools Association
