Social isolation, financial instability, juggling an increase in responsibilities (family and work), health anxiety and threats to job security are all valid reasons to feel uneasy. Even the most emotionally resilient of us can struggle in these circumstances. This is why the mental wellbeing of our staff, colleagues, friends and family has become a pressing concern.
It is encouraged that all Australians look after their mental health as the Prime Minister announced a $12 million boost for mental health services. EVEN in a “best-case scenario”, Australia is forecast to see an increase in suicide deaths of “at least” 13.7% over the next 5 years, according to a new report released by the University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Centre.
It might seem hard to focus on your well-being and mental health at this time, but prioritizing this is more important than ever.
